MANDI, the gorgeous grey tri color female, started living on my front porch first, luring me, dogging me into submission. Then came jake, the yellow kitten, who, who did the same thing, week after week on my porch, refusing to not be part of my life. Now, little shyla is doing the same thing, so, it looks like its gonna be a three cat family 4 me.
maybe i should stop naming them, or, maybe they should stop being so cute, beautiful, sweet, soft, fuzzy and friendly. If cats and dogs do not prove the existence of a loving compassionate god who wants his/her human children happy, i don't know what does. if dogs and cats are not among god's greatest gifts to us, i don't know what are. dogs, cats, and humans, are made for each other, are they not?
little sweet shyla has never been inside my house, and i have only touched her twice, for a split second, before she sprang safely away, but close. You and i both know sweet shyla is not gonna stay outside forever. you and i both know, damned good and well, that gorgeous shyla is gonna be the third member of this kitten family soon enough.
One night i started jogging down my quiet street , and sensed something, a presence...i stopped, looked behind me, and sure enough, mandi and shyla were chasing me, following me. We were all about a block from my house, and getting farther away.
One of them would pounce ten feet forward, then stop on a dime. Then the other would do the same, leap frogging ahead for an instant. All the while, keeping decent pace with me. I had no choice but to go home, and kiss kittens.
shyla keeps parading back and forth in front of every window in my house, like mandi once did, but she won't come in...yet. Right now she's making her point: I am very cute and beautiful, and i know you like me.... (you know, the usual female stuff).
Snuggling with two kittens at the same time is different than snuggling with just one. I found that out. Totally different dynamic. I think I'm about to join the ranks of the many americans who know the feeling of three. We'll see. I can only imagine how incredible that would be.
