Agreeing With Rush

I LISTEN TO rush limbaugh a lot, which really irks my liberal friends, who think I'm either crazy or a traitor. Actually, I'm open minded, which in america is often seen as a mental illness. No surprise, however; during the stalin era anyone in the soviet union who did not profess a belief in communism was labeled mentally ill. Open mindedness in modern america is considered insanity.

What I do is try to find things limbaugh says with which i agree. its kinda like looking for diamonds or gold in a river bed; you might go years without success. Today, however, rush said something with which i emphatically agree. he said theat the newly signed bill averting the fiscal cliff does nothing to address the basice problems we have in america. and boy, is that ever true.

obama signed the bill by computer from hawaii, which limbaugh sees as grandstanding, but i see as a quite understandable preference for hawaii over washington D.C. in january.

so rush limbaugh and i agree we have done nothing to solve our problems, but other than that we agree on nothing. limbaugh, and his conservative friends, seem to believe that helping anyone with government programs is a socialistic welfare state which is soon to ruin the country. taxing the wealthy a bit more, says rush, is criminal government theft. Whatever, rush.

only the most extreme cases of mental or physical disability should trigger government assistance, conservatives seem to be saying. Or, perhaps, none at all. a completely capitalistic society, with no cooperation whatsoever. Is that what we want? Only a small  radical minority of us.

we should have gone off the cliff, and stayed there, instead of merely going over it, just for fun, then acting like something horrible has happened, and, oh please, mr obama, and mister boehner, save us from....you? Oh god, what gratuitious melodrama by our attention seeking national "leaders".

going over the cliff, higher taxes for all, less government spending...is our only hope..and we still lack the courage to do what is painfully necessary...

limbaugh went on to accuse liberals of taking this country away from what the founding fathers intended. Since the founding fathers intended to have  country governed by a small group of wealthy landowning white men, we who are reasonable welcome the very changes from original intent rush says he deplores.
