Cliff hanging Drama

AT THE VERY LAST MOMENT, almost at midnight, congress reached a budget agreement, and saved the day for the american taxpayer. President apparently held out until the very end, and got the income tax increase he wanted on the very very wealthy.

Somehow, you knew it would happen this way. The most possible turmoil, the greatest possible amount of drama. We can seem to live without it in this entertainment addicted country. Even the business of governing the country is a sensationalistic kardashian -like reality drama.

Much of the fuss was over obama's stubborn insistence on taxing the wealthy, and only the wealthy. Were I he I would have surrendered that point long ago, to reach an agreement, but obama seemed to think it was terribly important.

Oh well, somebody has to stand up and fight for socialism! The conservatives, on the other hand, were conspicious for their extreme, devoted support of the interests of the very very wealthy. Rather telling, and typical.

These attention seeking power hungry american politicians should be ashamed of themselves, for focusing so desperately on their own political careers, and prolonging them, rather than the problems of the nation.

A one term term limit seems tempting, and yet we already have that option at the ballot box. This whole fiscal cliff business now seems more and more like a tawdry display of political drama to scare the people or gain their support by the various politicians.

Now that our current crop of sound biting camera hugging politicians have saved the day, maybe we can reward them with early retirement.
