Dumb, yet Glad to Not be lance

IN THE PREDECDING post, or "article" as i like to call 'em, i suggested that the future of human life on earth might  include humans living in high rise buildings by the millions, with most of the surface of the earth allowed to return to pure wilderness.

I got this idea, like many of my harebrained ideas, from science fiction novels;  a future world with skyscrapers miles high, reaching into space, buildings in which all human modern living activity occured. You course you could also have a space station the structure of which encircles the globe, containing all industrial plant.

the idea would be to keep all the benefits of high tech modern living, with easy access to wilderness for all. There would probably end up being tens of thousands of loner hermit types wandering through the wilderness, all across the planet. You know how some people are; anti social.

I recall one novel in which, a hundred years hence, the world is inhabited by twenty billion souls, and yet, nearly all the earth's surface is free of human activity of any sort. Just something to think about.

But that's the least of my problems. I'm sitting here with egg on my face because of my initial inability to determine accurately the precise gender of a kitten living within my own house. Finally, though, i got it right. He walked away from me, and behold and lo, maleness displayed.

Now i just gotta find a way to quit calling him "girl", but habits are hard to break. Singularly embarrassing. Consider this my lancien armstrongian confessional; I was wrong. Ich bin ein dumbkopf. I'm deeply sorry.  but I'm still glad i'm not lance armstrong.
