THE UNITED STATES has been, and still is, talking to the australian government about the idea of placing a big american naval fleet in australia. this discussion has been going on for some time, it was initiated by the obama administration, and it appears that the australians are amenable to the idea, that the details will soon be worked out, and that it will be implemented in the fairly near future.
the united states, currently aka "obama", has decided to shift american military emphasis to the pacific ocean, in particular the asian pacific ocean, even more particularly, the chinese asian pacific ocean.
how surprising is this?; the united states of america "talking" to some other country about having the united states military stationed upon the other country's soil, or water, as the case may be.
all i can say is, i am glad to be an american. i mean, if there is going to be an empire running rampant all over the world, the best option is to be protected by, aka a member of, said empire.
if only i didn't feel like such a damned "passive" and powerless member of said empire.
obama wants to make his name in american history, wants to do something impressive with the military, like all american presidents, and he understands, because he has been told incessantly, that china is our future threat, our future enemy.
which is true enough, but begs the question: might there be anything better we can do about it than building up our military and eventually fighting china? there had better be....
