Money as a Tool

MONEY IS CREATED anytime anyone lifts a finger to do anything. lift a finger to clean your house, it improves the value of your house. money may be made out of anything: gold, silver, platinum, copper, plastic, toilet paper.

Ultimately, it really doesn't matter whether money is made of gold or toilet paper, although people think it does. What matters is whether money works,, whether it gets the job done, whether it serves its purpose.

and just what is the purpose of money? to facilitate the production, distribution, and exchange of goods and services, isn't it? money is a tool by which primitive human beings can live together in an organized manner, and produce the needed goods and services.

einstein said that the most brilliant human invention is compound interest. invest a small amount of money at a young age, leave it invested, and you'll see that einstein was right. in a more general sense, money is clear evidence of the cleverness of homo sapiens. if humanity can survive its volatile mony using phase, it could go on to even greater achievements.

there is a star trek movie in which USS Enterprise crew members beam down into late twentieth century san francisco and are completely puzzled by, among other things, money. in the twenty second century world of spock and kirk star trek money is obsolete, unused, extinct.

it so shall it may someday be, but not yet. nor for the present. not for the time being. we are not yet ready to move beyond money, nor weapons, warfare, and violence, and this must be why our alien observers have chosen to deal with us very, very carefully.

one of the things we need to do now, as an intelligent species, is fix our global money problems, and restore its integrity, the integrity of money, so that we don't all go down together in economic collapse.

our  modern monetary system is ingenious, but it invites abuses, such as over utilization. (inflation). we simply pretend to have more money than we actually have. we thus make a mockery out of the very tool which sustains us; money.

and until we move beyond money, which someday we well might, it would be in our best interests to utilize money logically, and effectively. that means not letting nearly all of it collect in the hands of a privelaged few, for one thing.

Using this valuable tool correctly involves much more than this, however...
