DONALD TRUMP said that he gets it now, that he understands Covid 19 firsthand, not from some old book, but from experience. The president, evidently incapable of vicarious learning, makes you wonder what took him so long. He didn't believe what he was told, maybe? He thought the whole thing was a hoax, because he hadn't yet experienced it firsthand? That the president doesn't or can't learn much if anything form books is believable. The firsthand experience doesn't seem to have taught him as much as he claims either, for within minutes of making this timidly weak mea culpa he left the hospital, boarded an armored limo, and went joy riding, with people sitting close to him in an airtight auto, evidently for the purpose of capturing fifteen more minutes of fame by waving as his supporters. One of his doctors described this bizarre behavior as "insanity", another called it a political stunt, and the one who used the word "insanity" also used the word "theater". The president, it is plain, has learned neither didley, squat, nor jack. The doctors diagnoses: Trump pulled a crass political stunt, endangering the lives of all those who came in contact with him in his little joy ride. Afflicted with the disease himself, Trump still values personal gratification over public health, the health of others, hasn't learned a thing, and make no mistake, his trip down the street was for his, and no one else's pleasure. The president has left the hospital, his good health presumably nearly restored, and for that we should all be thankful. Also restored is his cavalier Covid attitude, about a deadly disease which has already killed more than one million people, people not sufficiently fortunate to receive, like Trump, enough medical care and attention to service an entire army. Nobody knows whether another million people will die, but we all know that many more will, most of whom will not receive quality health care. And yet, our uncaring monstrous president wants to eliminate Obamacare, stripping health insurance away from at least twenty million Americans, and he offers no plan with which to replace it, even after four years in office. Don't be afraid of the virus, says the petty bastard with false courage, fake leadership. don't let it dominate your life, says the spoiled rich boy with enough medical care for an entire army at his disposal. Might we expect him to soon return to true form, ridiculing Joe Biden for wearing a mask? He seems to want to justify six months of a dismissive, cavalier attitude about a disease which has already killed nearly a quarter million Americans? Should the families of a quarter million dead not allow Covid 19 to dominate their lives? Should those whose loved ones have died not be afraid of the virus? God, what a sick bastard, and the sickness is of the mind, heart and soul, and has nothing to do with any virus.
