Rendering Violence, with a flair

THERE IS SOMETHING about the stand off in Washington D.C., you know, the one wherein the government of the United States of America has ceased functioning, which is remdinful of everything else in America. If you live in the United States, and get out and around a little bit, and pay close attention, you might start to notice a few things. There's a lot of anger out there. Many Americans are struggling fincncially, making no progress, fighting just to pay bills. Among these people there is anger. Americans who plow ahead successfully , the successful ones, seem to have a very strong minded, agressive attitude. They are determined to accomplish theri golas in their own way, without interference, without considering anyone else's concerns. There is an arrogance, a stubbornness in the air. Its palpable. Anger, arrogance, lack of interst in compromise or cooperation, focus only on one's own intersts. Self absorption. These saem characteristics seem, somehow, to attend the president, congress, and the general population. In America, people driving their cars along the road often suddenly stop their car,s get out, and fight. Sometimes they stab each other with knives, sometimes they shoot each other with guns. We have a clever name for it: "road rage". Does this happen other countries? If so, it is quite probably that it does not happen with the special style with which only Americans can render violence. Obama and the republicans claim to like each other. We all claim to like each other, even when we hate each other. We have learned how to market and present ourselves! But how can one pretend to be reasonable and civilized, when one is neither?
