Changing Our Gun Laws, and Ourselves

OBAMA the DRAMA, never one to waste any  photo bite sound ops, speaking grandly in reference to his gun control proposals, boomed forth from olympus "we're notta gonna wait until the next Newtown."  Huh? What? Barack at his baritonal, rhetorical best, doubtless, but is there any real meaning therein, any substance, anything to inspire hope and confidence in a less violent future for america?

In other owrds, roughly translated, we the obama admin will spearhead through congress and into law the complete obama gun control package, including assault weapons ban, comprehsnesive background checks, blah blah blah, the whole enchilada, before another random mass occurs in america, thereby preventing another random american mass murder (R.A.M.M.)

And thus we, the ones (obama) who will have achieved said spearheading through the chaotic cobweb of republican constitutsionally  conservative  ideological lunacy, shall emerge as having saved thounsnds of lives, if not tens of thousands.... Like, I am so totally sure.

You gotta be kidding, right? No? You're serious, mr president? You really believe this? NO, you don't. You can't possibly. We , including you, all know damned good and well that no matter laws we pass, the carnage will continue, the slaughter will keep increasing, innocent american blood will continue to flow.

Because we all know that at root, guns are not the problem, people are the problem. The conservative NRA pro gun crowd is quite right about this, even though they're kinda crazy. Nonetheless, the obama  gun control proposals are sensible, reasonable, and should be enacted immediately.

But they aint goona be, not here in america the fun house, and even if and when they ever are, they sure as hell won't stop muchlin', if any. Not in this fundamentally violent, angry, and gun happy culture.

If we really want to stop slaughtering one another,we'll have to change ourselves, not just our gun laws.
