The people who are behind The Truthless Reconciler tend to have a rather liberal view of the world, which is to say, they tend to believe in global warming, greater economic equality, over population, and such.
They tend to believe that global warming exists, that greater economic equality should exist, and that over population will soon exist, if it doesn't already. Of course, these notions are all highly debatable; indeed, many conservatives don't worry about economic inequality, don't believe that global warming is ongoing, and don't think the world is over populated, or soon will be. Let's hope they're right.
For instance, Michelle Duggar, birth mother of nineteen children and star of a television show, recently stated in no uncertain terms that over population is not a problem, there are not nearly too many people on earth, and that the earth in fact can easily accomodate many more people. Maybe this attitude makes Michelle feel better about herself. Maybe she's right. Methinks she did state her view a bit strongly...
One might hope that Michelle is right about over population, but it certainly seems dubious. China is right now showing the world how much effort it takes to elevate the living standard of a billion people; smoke belching factories and power plants all over their country, air pollution choking nearly all of their one hundred cities of more than one million people.
A couple of years ago they had a sixty mile traffic jam, which lasted two months. Drivers were camping out. What if all the poor people of the world suddenly became ambitious, started making the right decisions, and got wealthy, the way the wealthy always say they did it?
Would we have room for seven billion five thousand square foot houses, with seven billion corvettes and harleys in seven billion garages? Is the human population too great, and is the human desire for material wealth too great to protect the earth's ecosphere? Let's hope not. But it sure seems possible, at least possible.
