Freedom

In america we liberals and conservatives need to come together, find more common ground, and we all know it. The conservatives want more freedom, freedom from government oppression, freedom to keep their own money, and their own guns, for instance.

And its high time we liberals agree with them! While we're at it, why don't we keep on expanding our freedoms? Any reason why the government should have anything to do with regulating sex, gambling, and recreational drug use?

Why should the government define and sanction, or have anything to do , with marriages? Why not let the people getting married do all that? Heterosexual, homosexual, polygamous, whatever the participants want, why not simply allow it, without being told what to want by government.

Most american republicans think that the government is too intrusive, oversteps its bounds, tries to control too many aspects of people's lives. Who could not wholeheartedly agree?  Let us avoid sin not by government coercian and decree, but rather, by the light of the morality and faith which resideth in our hearts, christian, or otherwise.

WE must have taxes, because we must have highways, sewers, and national defense. The tax structure we can work out together. The rest, let's just leave alone.
