Staying Home, Cleaning Up

NO CHURCH for me today, having decided to stay home instead. Writing is more fulfilling than listening, fulfilling thuogh listening can be. There is much to write about. The world is in a mess, but there are always solutions, if only we choose and use them. We must learn to tsop polluting the planet, and to clean up after ourselves. We need all self driving cars, running on clean energy. Our increasing population is going to have to be clothed, housed, and fed. The key to human civilization is to take care of the basics, food, clothing, shelter, then, expand and explore. Future free energy will help. With enough expansion and exploration, it seems increasingly likely that we'll encounter intelligent beings from other planets. Good luck with that. We can only do our best to remain alert, prepared, ready. I had hoped for first contact within my lifetime. It doesn't seem likely now. Although it may never happen, I hope it does, and I think it will. I hope the space program eventually establishes colonies in outer space, other planets, etc.. Humanity's best hope and chance for long term survival may be colonizing other habitats. Simultaneously, let's heal the Earth, and keep it healthy and healed. I want to end my life on Earth reasonably believing that the Earth is healing and thriving, not dying. Planting trees and protecting wilderness is vital for the future. The earth's human population must stabilize, and protect the Earth's fragile ecosystem. That means we must leavea a large part of the planet to non human habitat and life. For humanity to stabilize its population and live in harmony with nature is crucial, and possible.Tweny billion people could probably live on Earth, if organized effectively and efficiently. A much smaller number might be preferrable. We human beings abrolutely must stop causing other species of plants and animals to go extinct in large numbers, which we are presently doing rapaciously. We must change the way we treat the Earth, which we are learning to do. As we leran more we can learn ow to heal and protect the Earth, and ourselves. i would like to think that my descendants will thrive, and conform harmoniously to the basic principles of survival. The most harmful form of human pollution is perhaps plastic pollution. As I undersand it, plastic,in microscopic form, has totally permeated eveyr human body on th planet, every body of water, land mass everything. We have pollutted the world with plastic of many sorts in many forms, and we must stop. Apparently it would be possible to clean up a large part of the mess we have made, including all the toxic chemicals and plastic distributed througout the ecosystem, but would require not only a monumental, gatgantuan global effort, but would require us to make fundamental, painful changes to our normal lifestyles as well. But we have no choice. We must repair the damage we have done to Earth's ecosystem, and reconstruct our society economically to do no more damage. It still isn't to late to "save the planet", meaning its ecosystem. But we must go all out now. The climae is getting more extrems every year, and that is not going to stop, unless we stop it, by cleaning up the Earth, atmosphere and all, and by making sure that we never again treat it like its disposable, expendable garbage. The older you get, the more you care about your kids and grandkids, and their futures. We must do more as we get older. We must heal the Erath, and start treating it with love.
