Denying, and Harming Humanity
CLIMATE CHANGE DENIAL is harmful to humanity. We humans all need to accept the reality of human made global warming resulting in climate change. It must be stopped and reversed now. The purely human heating of the Earth with our heat producing machines is undesirable, and can be eliminated. WE humans need to cease our destruction of the environment, and focus instead on its rejuvenation and sustained health. The technology neeeded to remove excess carbon from the atmosphere is within our grasp, I understand. Global warming, entirely the product of human industrial activity, can be monintored, measured, and, ultimately eliminated. We cn design and build more efficient machines which do not generate and release heat into the environment while in operation. The problem with climate change is that its happening fast, despite our lack of preparation and level of readiness. Every year from now on the world will ge hotter, unless we do something to stop it, which we badly need to do. Climate change sssems to be happenign so fast that no matter where you live, within a few years it will be much different, hotter, drier, windier, stormier. The more heat in the Earth's atmosphere, the more mmolecular motion of the air, the stronger the winds. We must hasten to end immediately our dependence on carbon spewing fossil fuels. The future of humsn survival appears to be solar energy, unlimited energy coming constantly from the sun. We need only build solar energy collectors, in permanent Erath orbit above teh clouds, and in outer space. The atmonphere is currently heating up at a rate which would incinerate us soon, but we humans can adn will soon stop heating the atmosphere, allowing it to settle back down, and return to normal.I know people who say that they don't care whether the human race coninues to exist beyond their own personal death. IN a waym that seemingly totally selfish attitude makes perfect sense. But there is a better way. If w eshow that we care about the futue, our futurre and the future beyond ourselves, we begin teh process of helping to creat a better one, for everyone.POsitive, helpful, constructive behavior by us right now builds a better future for us an for all those who will come after us. I have spent my entire life thinking about the future, while very much enjoying the present, the moment. Einstein said "I never think much about the future. It arrives soon enough." True enough, but we humans are quite possible the only species of life on Earth which can even conceive of the "future", and accordingly we dwell on it, because we can. It may well be that past, present, and future aere ntirely human made concepts, and that the unvierse exists only in the great eternal present, the "now". Its all we have ever experieinced, or will ever experience. As we get closer and closer to our deaths as individuals, we can derive insiration and motivation from knowing that, as good citizens, we are passing the torh to a new generation with an intact human civilization, fragile and tenuous perhaps, but still intact. Who knows how often lifeforms in the universe evolve to the level of self awareness, or awareness of the universe. "We are a way for the cosmos to know itself" said Carl Sagan. We had beter hope that there are other ways, other lifeforms. Our ability to carry on seems tenuous at best. But here we still are, still trying, and if enough of us help, maybe we can exist as a species long enough to make a real impact in the universe.
