Acting Intelligently

FOR OVER TWO HUNDRED YEARS, chemists, we, humanity have understood that if you add a quantity of carbon to a volume of normal air, any volume, say a liter or so, the properties of the air change. It absorbs heat much more rapidly, retains it longer, and releases it slower. We have known this for at least two hundred years. All you have to do is capture a small volume of normal air, add carbon to it, and measure the reaction to heat. Its been done by millions of high school chemistry students, for decades. Someone once approached Einstein suggesting that if the human race deliberately added carbon the the Earth's atmosphere, agricultural yields could be increased, and world hunger cold be ended. Einstein readily agreed, and gave his approval to any plan to implement this idea. Perhaps both of them were unaware, or forgetting, that we started adding to the atmospheric concentration of carbon over two hundred years ago, and are increasing what we add, systematically, every year. Also, added plant growth with added carbon requires more water consumption, another major problem for us right now. And yet, we don't seem to care. Here we are, totally screwed, but uncaring. Go figure. What we're talking about here is basic chemistry, available in any high school chemistry class anywhere in the world, and he refusal of the world to take action. Basic chemistry tells us that unless we act, and act now, and decisively, we are doomed. So, why not act like it? Why not insist that the people who own and control the world lead the human race to salvation through replacement of fossil fuels with solar and wind energy, a redistribution of global wealth downward into the hands of the impoverished, to expand consumer markets, and enhance capitalism. Basic chemistry tells us investors to divest from fossil and reinvest in solar and wind, the sources of the future. There is, quite simply, no way in hell you can inject five hundred billion tons of carbon into the atmosphere, leave it there, and expect nothing to happen. Agreed? So, let's act. Let's plant trees, a trillion of them. let's put solar energy panels on top of every building in the world. And that's just for starters.-------WE MUST SHARE IDEAS TO SAVE THE PLANET. PLEASE SHARE! THANKS!
