Exploiting Children Sexually, Societally

YOU'LL REMEMBER JON BENET RAMSEY if you're, say, close to thirty or older. Six year old beauty queen, pageant champion, well assisted by her mother in pageantry, murdered about fifteen years ago or so, murder never solved. The police investigation focused on her parents, who were never indicted. The theory that someone broke into the house and murdered the child was also widely circulated. Crime well committed. Jon Benet Ramsey was very definitely an abused and exploited child. Abused because she was brutally murdered, if nothing else. Exploited because she was paraded around on stages wearing alluring little costumes, competing against other litle girls in beauty pageants. Beauty pageants for six year old girls. You gotta be kidding, right? Only in America? Probably not, but if not, at least America isn't the only culture with a screw or two loose. All this shameful exhibitionistic sexual exploitation, this strutting cutely and competitively in front of leering adults sitting in judgment, was done to Jon Benet, as it is done to thousands of other little American girls, for the pleasure and vanity and greed of adults, and for no other reason. The happiness, well being, or healthy development of the child have nothing to do with it. The children are told they will participate, and they will enjoy it. How utterly sick and barbaric, beauty pageants for six year olds. A sick and barbaric society which exploits its own children, piously calling the thousands of sexual deviants created by that very society "predators". And predators they are, just like the good mainstream people who sustain six year old beauty pageants are predators. Why shouldn't I use pretty little girls for my "personal benefit"? Everybody else does! In America, the United States of Acquisition, no behavior which makes money is out of bounds, execpt those which the corporations can't control, like growing marijuana. American culture is exploitative, abusive, and predatory, because the gospel of greed, the gospel of success, and the gospel of being attractive and socially upwardly mobile is infused within us by a culture in which appearance is everything, and which is willing to exploit its own children to satisfy the lust of adults for success. A shallow mainstream culture of vanity. The sexual exploitation of children in America begins with the good people, who become bad people when they sin in ways they were trained to,but overstep the arbitrary "limits". We encourage junior high school girls to dress alluringly, and they do. Our fashion industry is filled with images of undrage girls, looking as sexy as air brushing and computer image generating will allow. Then, when American men in droves pursue sex with underage children, we act astonished, shocked, outraged, as if the perverts among us were entirely disconnected from proper social values and behavior, as if we can't possibly imagine what went wrong.
