Its Money That Matters

EVERY AMERICAN KNOWS, or should know, what a great activity baseball is, and you good folks in russia should know it too. latin America, China, Japan, Korea; baseball is exploding in popularity all around the world, with good reason; it is a complete hoot. Fun to play, and, if you have a little patience, fun to watch.

Since baseball is relatively non violent, its a little surprising that it hasn't declined in popularity in america, and really, it has; today baseball is infused with a constant stream of great players from latin american and asia. You russians have learned to love american basketball; baseball is even better, trust me.

The greatest problem is the influence of greed in professional baseball. The ironic thing is, the game is so much fun to play, that most people would be quite happy to play it for free; but if you are good enough, and have a chance to make big money, why not?

And who can blame the billionaire owners? One does not becom ea billioniare without being "greedy". we americans love entertainment so much, that we are happy to make it a highly lucrative form of enterprise, and a highly lucrative professional, for the athletically talented few.

We may be losing our sanity, though. There is a young baseball player on a team which has had a great regular season, and is now getting ready to play in the championship series.  this young player, extremely talented, has now reached his limit for games played, and will not be allowed to play in tHE championship, even though he feels fine, and is healthy, because the owners don't want to risk  injuring him with too much exercise.

Can you imagine being a young great athlete, helping your team get to the championship, then not being allowed to play in the championship, because you are so valubale to the team, they want to make sure you don't get hurt playing?  You lose out, you don't get to play the sport you love at the most important time, because of money. And should never happen, to anyone.

The love of money is indeed the root of all evil, and ruins everything.
