Why We Like Who We Like

Sometimes modern science reveals answers to age old questions. We now know, or think we do, why people are physically attracted to each other, and by extension, why they are not. And basically, its geometry. Youth and good health remain just as important as ever, and we know that we tend to be attracted to people who look like our parents, and people who look like ourselves. The new parameter is facial geometry.

If the ratio of the width of her nose to the width of her eyes isn't correct, its a no go. If the distance between his eyes is too little or too great, she won't be interested. All these relationships between facial features have been thoroughly studied, endlessly, and the results verified. So either we are brute animals responding to evoloutionary programmed behavior we don't even know about, or we are subtley discrimminating beings with an advanced sense of beauty and proportion. Or both.

For blind people, this theory is not applicable, presumably.

Does this mean that we are shallow, or complicated and sophisticated? Or a little of both?
