America's Slumbering Citizenry

MAY THE DEVIL TAKE ANYONE who questions the basic goodness of the American people, and their ability to govern themselves. Ah, but the people of any nation are good hearted; it is their governments which lead them astray. In the United States, government and media often conspire to mislead and distract the American people with banal culture, since government and media are owned by the same military industrial complex. Perhaps this is because the American people simply cannot be trusted with the truth. If they were told the truth, perhaps the American people would decide to stop having all these wars. For instance, during America's wars against Iraq, Iraq, (we had two wars there, recall) and Afghanistan, the media hardly made mention of civilian casualties inflicted by the American military. In the Iraq war alone, it was estimated by the U.N. that upwards of one hundred thousand Iraqi civilians were killed, mostly women and children, mostly by American bombing. But the American people hardly knew, or know, anything about this, because if they did, they would rise up and demand that their government stop starting wars all over the planet, which, to the American military industrial complex, would be unthinkable. Corporate control of the American masses depends upon having a common enemy at all times. Any will do.Ultimately, power belongs to the people, but only if and when the people realize that they indeed have power. Obama is obviously a corporate puppet and a war monger, just like all the other American presidents. No other kind has a chance to get elected. None other ever will, until such time as the American people are no longer distracted, if such a time ever comes.
