Creating The Future

WE ARE RESPONSIBLE for creating the future, the future of the world. We'll be leaving it soon enough, and we are responsible for leaving it in good condition, that our descendents will have a chance to live worthwhile lives. Can you imagine what the world could be like in another one hundred years, or five hundred, if we point it in the right direction now? It could, in theory, be free of disease, poverty, hunger and war. It could have an unlimited wealth of opportunity for humans; if we now alive allow it. We must leave our descendents as much knowledge as we can, and all knowledge is good knowledge. If you think your life is unimportant, unimportant to the present or the future, think again. You know not your own importance. Write a book. Write the story of your life, and leave it for your descendents in the far future to have! The internet is among man's most marvelous inventions. Now, anyone can sit down in front of a computer, and type a book. An autobiography. An internet containing the autobiographies of everyone now alive in the year 2013 would be the ultimate gift to bestow upon our dearly beloved descendents. History, including personal history, is valuable knowledge. People of the year 2513, we salute you! Five hundred years ago we had problems, but we dealt with them well enough, well enough to give you a chance to exist, and flourish. We of the year 2013 moved away from war, war, disease, and poverty, and towards human cooperation, harmony, and prosperity. This is why you are able to read this greeting from your ancient ancestors, in the year 2013. Who knows what the internet will have become by the year 2513, but we who lived in the year 2000 witnessed its invention, in the nineteen eighties and nineties. We created our future, your present, and we hope you create a future for yourself, and your descendents.
