Reminding the Powers That Be (of the Will of The People)

IN The BEST INTERESTS OF THE WORLD, the United States of America should accept without question the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court and the World Court, should agree to and abide by all international environmental agreements, and should let the United Nations take the lead in international crises. What could make more sense? How is it in the best interests of the world for one rogue superpower (U.S.A.) to ingnore the will of the world and its cooperatively established institutions, simply because it (U.S.A.) possesses an overwhelming military superiority? The United States of America should rely on diplomatic and economic and law enforcement solutions in confronting terrorism, rather than military responses. The security Council of the United Nations should be done away with, or at least its members should lose their veto power over all U.N. agreements. This arrangement is nothing other than military coercion. To the victors of World War Two went the spoils of United Nations power. Its time for that to end, and for true democracy to govern the United Nations, and its time for the United States to abide by the original U.N. Charter, which it has never done. Finally, the United States should cut back sharply on military spending and increase social spending, providing health care and lifting people out of poverty. A high percentage of the American people agree with all the above suggestions; yet, they never happen. Undoubtedly a vast majority of the world's citizens also agree with the above suggestions. The powers that rule the United States and the world have forgotten about the will of the people. How surprising. it is time to remind them of it.
