Normalcy, Returning

DURING THE EPIDEMIC mass murders, an american staple, vanished, a welcome unintended consequence of social distancing. With more than one thousand people dying daily of Covid 19 Trump flu, the opioid epidemic paled, left in the dust with less than one eighth the daily daily death rate. Also missing of late has been our regular racist arrest regimen, the familiar scenario wherein white cop kills unarmed African-American unarmed man for failure to genuflect. But now it seems we're back in business, calculating the astronomical odds against a white cop kneeling on the neck of a European-American. The civilian population chimed in; it is unseemly for a person to be jogging in the deep south in a neighborhood in which a burglary has recently occurred, while black. At least we can take our minds off the virus for a brief moment, and relish a return to the good old days, when conservatives insisted that racism comes into existence only when liberals mention it. On social media Lebron James posted a picture of the cop kneeling on the neck of the victim, next to a picture of Colin Kaepernick kneeling during the anthem in his football uniform, the pic which incited a cultural war. James typed in the words: "do you understand now"? Permit me to answer that question. Its like Louis Armstrong said about Jazz. If you have to ask what it is, you will never know what it is. No, King James, they do not understand, and they never will. The right wing racist deniers who so sanctimoniously fly their flag in their phony conceit and judge others who dare protest a corrupt culture for its corruption will never understand, if they do not already.
