Giving A Pass To A Right Wing Reprobate...Again.

THE ATTORNEY GENERAL of the Republic of Texas has been in office a long time. He was elected and reelected for two reasons; he is an ardent,fervant,loyal far right Trump supporter who buys into Trump's election lie and supported the former president's attempt to overthrow the American government to remain illegally in power,and, because he wholeheartedly supports the far right agenda of the conservative movement, including eliminating all mention of racism from public schools, pretending that LGBTQ people do not exist by treating them by law as if they were not LGBTQ people, insinuating the Christian religion into the public, civic domain,and so forth, and so on. His credentials as a card carrying far right wing ideologue are unblemished by reason or morality,and include his firm belief that the more guns in the hands of more good people the less chance bad guys will have in a public mass murder or shoot out. His anti-choice pro birth stance is standard bill of faire among the radical reprobate right...In Texas,abortion is prohibited, and not only that, but anyone caught or accused of aiding and abetting an attempt by a desperate woman to obtain an abortion, such as fronting her gas money or helping her pack for a trip to a civilized state, is strictly verboten, and punishable by all manner of hideous repurcussions, including fines and imprisonment. In Texas, any citizen vigillante can easily bust any friend or remote associate of any pregnant woman in the lone star state, merely by claiming to have witnessed the criminal-against-forced- reproduction suggest to said pregnant woman that she has options other than to remain in state and suffer the slings and arrows of outragsous religious based legislation. In Texas, conservative evangelical Christians have such great power that they can ruin the lives of the pregnant, and the friends of the pregnant, all with the enthusiastic encouragment of the Attorney General. Thus the A.G. is in good standing with the far right religious community, despite the fact that he is a criminal of the most heinous sort. Bribery, financial fraud, abuse of power; the litany of white collar crimes of which he is very appropriately accused is sufficiently lengthy to place him in the company of America'smost notorious non violent crimainals,and to render him eminently suitable for inclusion in the Donald Trump inner circle of conspirators, for which a strong resume' of criminal ativity, past and present, is seemingly mandatory. So blatant and persistant are the A.G.'s crimes that he was,incredibly,impeached by the state legislature,and put on trial. He was,just the other day, found not guilty, exonerated of all charges, surprise surprise. The scenario played out like that for Donald Trump, the hero of the A.G.and of the Republican majoruty Texas legislature, and of most of the electorate of this blood red state. Specifically, do the crimes, many of them, get caught, be subjected to impeachment, but found not tuilty by a legislative body of fellow traveler Trumpers. Once again, mainstream conservative Christian Republicans have shown their utter lack of concern for whether a person is a criminal,as long as the person is a good, far right wing ideologue, or, as decent people of good moral character and honesty would put it, a complete reprobate.
