Defining and Finding Traitors

IT HAS OFTEN BEEN ARGUED among Trump - haters, including me, that not only Trump and his inner circle of fellow criminals,but the rest of his supporters as well,post insurrrection, are traitors. That is the argument I intend to make yet again, here, because its important, and worth analysis. Trump and is supporters qyite obviously do not think of themselves as traitors, and, I would guess, become quite angry when so accused. I wouldn't know. I've only tried it once, by email, with no noticeable discernible impact, thank the lord, or whatever. I got lucky. I didn't lose my friend who I called a traitor in an emal two days ago.He'sa strong Trump supporter, but I saw him at our 50 year high school reunion this weekend, and we got along great. Trump and his supporers seem to think of themselves as virtuous heroes, patriotics, trying hard to save America rom the forces of evil, namely, Democrats... progressivism... Traitors never think of themselves as traitors, but rather as patriots and heroes. John wilkes Booth, arguably was a traitor, by killing the president. What he was was an angry, bitter, southern sympathizer immediately after the Civil War. He thought he would be hailed as a national hero for killing Lincoln, because not only did the people of the defeated Confederacy hated Abraham, but so did a substantial percentage of the Union population. Boy, was Booth ever wrong. Nobody has ever been more wrong. His last words were: "Useless...useless." The nation rose up in a frenzy of grief and love of Lincoln. His immortality as an American hero was cemented the day of his death.. Benedict Arnold did not think of himself as a hero, and certainly did not expect the American people to hail and love him as one. But he was in reality trying to save the United States. As a General in the army of George Washington and commander of West Point, General Arnold was convinced that the Americans were going to lose the revolutionary war, and all be hanged, literally, by the victorious British. He had a very good reason for believing this. The United States was getting it ass kicked,and running out of food and ammunition. What Benedict didn't know was that the French were thinking about and arguing very seriously about sending help to the Americans, to get revenge on the hated British. They did, and the rest, as they say, is history.Fast forward to the next larger than life traitor. Trump told Ivanka two weeks before the election that he was going to lie,and try to steal it. And yet, years later, they, millions of Trump cultists,are more convinced than ever that Joe Biden is an illegal usurper. Mental illness, temporary insanity, through willful self brainwashing. MAGA is quite dangerous, because its quite mad, in more ways than one. The sheer transparent obviousness of Trump's big lie, the evil of the insurrection conspiracy and violent mob attack on the Capitol, and the broad majority support they still have within evangelical conservative America, based on its complete embrace of Trump's evil as virtue, clearly prove that the complete destruction and dissolution of the MAGA Trump movement is essential to the survival of American democrcy, essential for the very survival of the country.It can't and won't be done overnight, in one grand, glorious event, on a large scale.It must be done slowly, gradually..steadily... one...soul..at a time...to be continued....
