Making It On Your Own in America
THE EXCITEMENT should be considerable as we move towards another Washington D.C. impasse and government "shut down". Political cutthroat battles, conflict, domestic turmoil, nothing new at all in the U.S. of Aggression. At least one P.O.'d hubby wanted to shoot Thomas Jefferson, Burr outdueled Hamilton, nearly half the country revolted and fought a savage war with the other half, and the list goes on. Especially quaint was the appearance, on foot, in the nation's capitol in the summer of 1932 by thousands of world war one veterans, demanding their pension money. The big shoot out was quite a scene... Recent events could almost be said to point to a future war of rich versus poor. The United State House of Representatives voted to cut the food stamp budget, and also voted to defund obamacare. While obama has been president, the number of americans on food stamps has tripled, from about thirteen million, to nearly forty million, it was reported. Maybe obama is an inspiration to all would be food stamp wannabes, or maybe the rules have been relaxed, or maybe poverty has risen drastically under obama. Who knows. At some point, federal spending must reach an upper limit, and some of the hungry, and allegedly hungry, might be forced to make other plans. The more people who become desperately hungry, for real, the more potential for big trouble. There is, without doubt, a phenomenon in the united states wherein some people in poverty, on public assistance, are obese, and have cars, big screen television, cell phones, viddo games, beer, and cigarettes. The question is; how much "real" poverty and hunger is there, and how much of it is people abusing the system? Too much of each, probably. There are too many people in america on disability and too many on food stamps and unemployment, one could argue. I have never met a human being who couldn't earn a living sitting in front of a computer, clicking, and typing. As for obama care, a national online referendum is the answer. Let's find out what america thinks! The computer sits on a table in the rotunda of the capitol. All cameras are aimed at it, and at the group standing behind it, which includes John Boehner, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, barrack hussein obama, the hill billy clintons, rush limbaugh, justin beiber, and kloe kardashian. Did I leave anybody out? All celebs are present! The vote is coming in....twenty nine million americans favor obamacare, but thirty five million oppose it. Obamacare looks to become history! Back to totally fre market medicine. Stand in line, check books in hand. Good luck poor folk. All you need is some good hard work, and good decision making, and you'll make it, somehow, on your own.
