Outdating the Far Right

THE REPUBLICAN PARTY, hopelessly in conflict with and contrary to the agenda of mainstream america, has boxed itself into a corner with its white christian membership and approach to politics. The United States is a majoritarian progressive country in terms of policy preference.Endless surveys indicate this.Americans want the government to provide health insurance, better pay for workers and a higher minimum wage by legislation action, less concentration of wealth, common sense gun control laws which reduce the enormous number of weapons in the hands of the public, and a majority of the American people do not want to live in a pure capitalistic economy in which the Christian religion is imposed upon the public domain.By moving steadily to the right for the past few decades, the G.O.P. has alienated itself from America's minorities, and has in fact become the party of middle and upper class white christian America.white ethnic and the christian faith are both rapidly becoming minorities. Only sixty five percent of the American people now identify themselves as Christian, down considerably from the entirely of American history.Within thirty years fewer than fifty percent of Americans will be caucasion. During the era of Trump, membership in teh Republican party has been steadily declining as Republicans defect because of Trump's chaotic administration and behavior, and the Democratic party has been growing, party in opposition to our very unpopular president, party because of the increase in minority population. The Republican party understands all this. Political insiders who pay close attention to political and demographic trends understand that the grand aol party is not on a path that can possibly sustain itself, so deeply rooted it is in the white evangelical Christian population, which is dwindling , and can only continue to dwindle. Thus, they have installed outreach programs to attract new minorities, especially African-Americans and Latino-Americans, with limited success. But they must do more than offer a place at the table to people who can see no benefit from sitting down with them. they must change their agenda, make it more inclusive, more attractive to moderates, women, people of color, and the gay community. their growing desperation is indicated by the less honorable methods they are employing; trying to keep the number of voters down through policies making it harder to vote, fewer polling places, more stringent I.D. requirements, and many others.they know that when voter turnout is high, it favors Democrats, because a majority of Americana prefer the Democratic agenda of more social programs and inclusion of minorities. Most notably, the Republican party has been on the attack, a party of anger and accusation, trying to convince the American people that the Democrats offer only state socialism and non traditional American values. The conservative movement is angry, as evidenced by the election of Donald Trump and his four years of divisive hate mongering and attacking his opponents. At Trump ralies  his supporters chant ugly, hateful slogans. This angry, divisive strategy of desperation is not working, as evidenced by Trump's enduring unpopularity with a majority of the American people throughout his presidency, and by the poll numbers which seem to indicate a substantial Democratic victory November third. The best hope is the the Republican party in the post Trump era will remake itself into a better, more moral organization, and that future American politicians and political organizations will learn from its disastrous  course.
